Apple leather is a plant-based alternative to leather. It is created during a special process. 1.4 kilos of apples are needed to make 1 litre of apple juice. After the juicing process, the skin, core and pulp remain. This waste product is dried and ground and then made into apple leather with a mix of PU, polyester and cotton. This innovative process is both sustainable and vegan. Apple leather originates from Italy. In the Netherlands, as part of a social apprenticeship company, beautiful products are made from apple leather. The result?
