Eco Credentials

RE: DOWN Mammut uses RE: DOWN (recycled down) in their products, which is reclaimed from old bedding products and sleeping bags that can’t be resold. It offers the same performance as virgin down and the quality of the down is tested at every step of the production.

Organic Cotton Organic cotton preserves the environment by reducing water, energy use and greenhouse gas emissions and by fostering soil fertility and biodiversity. Mammut started using it in 2009 and aims to use 100% organic cotton by 2025.

Responsibly Sourced Wool Mammut is committed to sourcing wool according to the Responsible Wool Standard as soon as it becomes available. All of the wool used to make their products is already mulesing-free. By summer 2025, it will all be sourced from RWS-certified farms.

Clean Production Mammut strives to safeguard clean production processes with minimal emissions. To prevent harmful substances from being released into the environment, Mammut ensures they never enter its supply chains in the first place.

Animal Welfare Mammut constantly strive to uphold the highest animal welfare standards. They work exclusively with farms practicing responsible animal husbandry and have set a long-term goal of supply chain transparency.

The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) Mammut works alongside the FWF to ensure that workers’ rights are protected throughout their supply chain. Mammut monitors working conditions at its suppliers by means of regular audits and factory visits.

Climate Action By signing the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action in 2018, Mammut started their climate-journey, committing to reduce their absolute GHG-emissions by 30% by 2030 and to become net zero by 2050.

Minimising Air Freight Mammut has started to switch to ocean cargo or rail for the transportation of their products as opposed to air freight. Air cargo footprint is 40- 50 times higher than shipment by cargo ship.
